Help us raise funds to help create a new playground space at Daniels Run Elementary!*

What is the Walk-a-Thon FUNdraiser?

This fundraising activity is organized and managed by the PTA. Students will raise money for our school without selling merchandise while promoting wellness and fitness. Funds raised will assist in the creation of a new playground space.

On October 26, students walked for 30 minutes, during the school day, around a designated course on the DRE field. Each lap is equivalent to 1/16 of a mile. If it rains, we will be walking in the gym. All students receive a complimentary Walk shirt and a snack during the walk day.

Why participate in this FUNdraiser?

The Walk-A-Thon serves as the PTA’s primary fundraiser. It is an opportunity for the students to work together as a community to raise funds that will go directly back to the student body. 100% of the money collected will directly benefit Daniels Run Elementary. Our Walk will promote fun and fitness for every student. Students collect donations for their participation, not based on how many laps they walk. AWESOME prizes can be earned for donations and completed laps.

Key Dates to Remember

October 15: Start collecting donations!
October 15-26: Submit cash/check donations to your teacher and collect online donations.
October 26: WALK DAY (come wearing sneakers and with weather appropriate clothes that you can walk in). Submit all donations to be considered for prizes.
November 2: Last call for any additional donations.
November 9: Winners announced.

How to get donations and reach your goal?

1. Register: Visit our pledge headquarters to register: www.thegetmovincrew.com

  • Select “Get Registered Parent Login”

  • Create a parent account and add your student(s) OR if you’re already registered, login and update your student(s) information

  • Accept online donations

  • Track the progress of your child and their class


2. Collect: Online donations are preferred. Check and cash donations are accepted and should be submitted using the donation form (checks should be made payable to Daniels Run Elementary PTA).

  • Email: Request donations with your very own donation page!

  • Visit/Call: Friends, relatives and neighbors and ask them to support DRE.

  • Funds Matching: Many companies offer matching funds for non-profit donations by employees. Please check at your workplace if that is the case.


3. Turn in: To be considered for prizes, donations must be returned to teachers (or submitted online) by Friday, October 26. Additional donations will be accepted through Friday, November 2.

What prizes can I win?

Individual Prizes

  • All students with a donation submitted by Tuesday, October 17 will receive sunglasses to wear during the walk.

  • All students who collect at least $75 will receive a stress ball.

  • The student who walks the most amount of laps for their grade will earn a water bottle.

  • All students who collect more than $75 will receive a drawstring bag.

  • Each student will receive a raffle ticket for every $50 raised and 10 raffle winners will receive earbuds.

  • Collect the highest amount of money in your grade and earn a special lunch with the principal.

  • The student who collects the highest number of sponsors will receive a Razor Scooter.

October 26 Walk Schedule

Each class walked up to 30 minutes during their allotted time frame.

9:45-10:15 -  2nd Grade
10:45-11:15 - Kindergarten 
11:40-12:15 - 1st Grade
1:15-1:45 - 4th Grade

1:45-2:15 - 5th Grade
2:25-2:55 - 5th Grade
2:55-3:30 - 6th Grade
